Ask FRED
How much beer a pub should hold for one pump (on the bar, in the cellar and on order), so there's always a cask conditioned and ready, without over-ordering. Same sum as the CaskAid app.
Work out what to charge per pint, or check the margin a pub is really making. A scratchpad: nothing is saved. Same sums as the CaskAid calculator.
Before a pub adds a handpull, check it can sell a cask while the beer is still at its best. Once a cask is on sale, it's usually best within 3 to 5 days (follow the brewery's advice).
Beer poured away (pull-throughs, line cleans, casks that went off, returned pints) is money down the drain. Show the pub what it adds up to.
Show a customer exactly which part you mean. Tap a part to zoom in on it. Tick the parts you want to send them.
Send a pub a short form for a faulty or damaged cask. They add the reason, a photo of the label, the batch number and how much is left, and it comes back to you as a tidy ullage report.
Ullage requests you've sent
Walk round the cellar and bar with the pub. Anything marked No goes on their report with what to do about it.
Based on the kind of checks Cask Marque inspectors look for. This is not a Cask Marque inspection and is not connected with Cask Marque.
Send a pub its own FRED link. When a beer plays up, they try FRED first. If they're still stuck, FRED sends you everything they've already checked.
Pubs with your FRED link
Already on the phone to the pub?
Start the problem in FRED yourself and answer what you already know. Then tap Send to the customer from here: the pub's link opens at that point, with your requests for photos or a video.
Not sure they know which part you mean?
Open What's what, tick the part (the shive, a hard peg, the regulator…) and send it. They see it zoomed in on a drawing, and can send you a photo of theirs.
Got an ullage to sort?
Send the pub an ullage request. They fill in the cask details and add photos, and you get a report ready for the brewery's quality team.
When a pub uses your FRED link, you see what happened: sorted without a visit, or still stuck with every check they've already done and any photos they added. Ullage requests the pub has filled in land here too.
Allowances reset on the 1st of each month. Safety answers (gas alarm, cleaner in the line, cooler faults) are always free and never count.

The rules, in short
- A referral is a pub that joins CaskAid with your code. It counts once it has paid its first month (not when it signs up), and that payment has stood for 30 days. If it's refunded in that time, it doesn't count.
- 5 or more paying pubs = Ask FRED Rep free, for as long as they keep paying.
- 10 or more paying pubs = Ask FRED Premium free when Premium launches, for as long as they keep paying.
- If a pub stops using CaskAid, it stops counting.
- Pubs that join with your code get 20% off their first 3 months of CaskAid.
- You can't refer your own pub or yourself. A pub counts for one person only.
- No cash, credit or gift cards.
Draft rules. Full terms would sit in the Ask FRED rep agreement.
